About BuildKabul

Quality and safety are decided long before inspection.

What gets specified, supervised and recorded on site — and why the record matters as much as the result.

In short

What this means in practice.

Quality is not a final inspection. It is the accumulation of specification, supervision and correction while the work is still accessible. Once a slab is poured or a wall is closed, the cost of getting it right multiplies.

01

Specification before procurement

Materials are specified against the performance the building needs over its life, not only against the budget available in the week they are ordered.

02

Supervision while it is still visible

Reinforcement, services routing and structural work are checked before they are covered. Issues found at this stage are corrections; found later they are rework.

03

Safety as a site condition

Access, edge protection, lifting operations and site housekeeping are treated as part of running the job properly rather than as an administrative layer on top of it.

04

A record that outlives the project

Inspections, approvals and material information are documented so the owner inherits a building they can maintain and evidence they can rely on.

In more depth

What supervision actually looks like on site.

The decisive moments are the ones just before something becomes invisible. Reinforcement before the pour, services before the ceiling closes, waterproofing before the screed, insulation before the cladding. Work checked at these points can be corrected for the cost of a conversation; the same work found afterwards costs a programme.

This is why we treat inspection as a sequencing question rather than a paperwork one. If the programme does not allow time to check work before it is covered, the programme is wrong, and saying so early is more useful than signing it off later.

The record that comes out of this matters beyond the project. An owner who inherits documented inspections, material information and as-built drawings owns a building they can maintain, insure and eventually sell with far less friction than one delivered with a set of keys and nothing else.

  • Reinforcement inspected before concrete is placed
  • Services and waterproofing checked before they are covered
  • Material verified against specification at delivery
  • Non-conformance recorded, corrected and re-checked
  • As-built information handed over with the building

Common questions

Questions we are actually asked.

Who carries out inspections?

Site supervision by the delivery team, with owner-side or independent review where a project warrants it. For structural work in a seismic region, independent review is worth the cost.

What happens when something is built wrong?

It is recorded, corrected and re-checked. The important part is that it is recorded — an unlogged correction cannot be verified later.

Will I receive documentation at handover?

Yes. Inspection records, material information and as-built drawings should be part of what you receive, not an extra to request afterwards.

How is safety enforced with subcontractors?

The same standards apply to everyone on site. Anyone may stop work they believe is unsafe, and that includes subcontracted crews.

Ask what will be recorded.

The answer tells you a great deal about how a project will actually be run.
